I've already made all the parts in Diptrace, I just don't know what I need to do to get it to draw it for me. 2) In the Main Menu click on File, choose Import in the drop-down menu and select Gerber. Import the Gerber drawing figures 1) Launch the PCB Layout editor and make sure the Design Area is completely blank. I want to bring in that information into Diptrace to draw the schematic. The DipTrace DXF tool can help you with the target-shaped drawing. What I have is a set of Gerber drawings and a netlist. This is a good way for merging designs for manufacture. if I import into diptrace a gerber set exported by ditrace it should be able to recognize the layer file names. Then I went to the schematic editor and tried to import those files and both failed. Silly question but can't the gerber import automatically assign layer names based on the gerber file names. You can add the drill to each layer as you import but it takes longer. View each layer, scale and print to E size plotter. To test this, I went to PCB Layout, made a 3 part PCB and exported the file as both a P-CAD ASCII and a Diptrace ASCII. Export Gerber all layers and then Export a N/C Drill file, open new instance of PCB Editor, Import each Gerber, the first import as New and each layer after that as Add, after all layers are imported import the Drill layer. When using the PCB layout tool, I can import the netlist and it at least doesn't say I have a format issues. Want to know how to generate pcb gerber files using diptrace. I don't see the option to import netlist into the schematic editor, just other schematic formats. Step 2.Click Export All and save all the layers Step 3.After an export the Gerber files, we need to export the NC Drill files. You can find some information on the subject of importing Netlists as follows.ġ) Go to the Main Menu in the Schematic Editor and click on Help.Ģ) In the drop-down menu click on Schematic Help.ģ) In the Schematic Help window, click on Schematic, Working with Files and then Import.Ģ) In the drop-down menu click on DipTrace Tutorial.ģ) In the Tutorial window, click on Using different package features and then Import/Exporting netlists. A far as I know, DipTrace can import Netlists from other programs into the Schematic Editor or the PCB Layout editor (see menu examples below). When I import the resulting Gerber layer and NC Drill file back into the DipTrace Gerber viewer, I see what you got - the correct oval copper pad with a single, round drill strike at one end, where the slot should start - but not the expected milled slot.
